Baby Emma {Was I this cute?} | Newfoundland Newborn Photography

Sunday, October 31, 2010

At just 12 days new, baby Emma was a pleasure to photograph. She is indescribably beautiful...so tiny...so delicate...so perfect. My mum said it best..."so dainty."

Not only is it heartwarming to me to share the same name as baby Emma, but it was an absolute privilege to be the first to photograph her. The little lady wasn't too fussy about being naked {something else we have in common...but for totally different reasons lol}. But, the soothing sound of her mum and dad's voice and gentle touch, put her at ease. I can't explain how amazing it is, to see the bright eyes of a newborn through my lens.

Poor little Jack wasn't feeling well for his first photo session, BUT he did show me that beautiful smile a time or two. I could have stayed at the park with him all day. Check out this sneak peak for mom and dad.

p.s...Pooh was a little camera shy.

Christa + Greg | Central Newfoundland {Wedding} Photography

Tuesday, October 19, 2010

I've had many great adventures at weddings. This past Saturday was no exception.

When Christa contacted me last year, she sent pictures of this amazing location she had found for post-ceremony photos. I was literally in awe and in love with this location. I have been looking forward to the Snow/Simms wedding all summer. Unfortunately, the weather was putting a damper on our plans...or so we thought. To check the forecast leading up to the wedding and to hear the disappointment in Christa's voice that we may be rained out, was heartbreaking. I've always been pretty lucky {knock on wood} with the weather on wedding days. I think deep down, I knew it would hold off for at least a few shots outside. Plus, I had many people praying to the rain gods and crossing their fingers and toes. Thank you!

Christa and Greg were married at St. Andrews Anglican Church in Bishop's Falls. During the ceremony, I glanced out the windows, hoping the rain had stopped. It continued to come down. I was loosing faith. As Christa and Greg lined up after the ceremony to greet their guests, I glanced out one more time. No rain!

The newlyweds and I geared up and headed for our secret location. The drive to the secluded area was apparently rough and could only be accessed by truck. My Honda Accord wasn't going to cut it. We hopped in with Greg's brother and groomsmen, Chris and his fiance and maid of honor, Julie. I had no idea where we were headed. The usual "we're married" excitement was mixed with the overall excitement of the group {me included} for heading outdoors for photos. After a fairly long ride through the woods and down a {very} bumpy dirt road, we made it. I swear my jaw dropped when we arrived. I couldn't believe it. What a spot. We spent a full hour outdoors without a drop of rain.

I had such a great time with everyone. As usual, I was made to feel like part of the group. Thank you to Chris and Julie for chauffeuring me around and to Christa and Greg for the adventure. I hope you enjoy the sneak peak. These are my faves.

The Penney {family} | Central Newfoundland Portrait Photography

I love all four seasons {well...then again, I could easily go into hibernation at the first sign of snow}. I love to hear the birds sing after a long cold winter and who doesn't love summer. I love fall and everything it has to offer. Clean, crisp air and beautiful photography back-drops full of autumn colors. I also love family portrait sessions...

I met up with the Penney family while they were in Grand Falls-Windsor for Thanksgiving weekend. It wasn't long before the family portrait session became all about seventeen-month-old Gracie. How could it not...she's a bundle of cuteness. It was hard NOT to focus on her. I'm sure you'll agree...

Elizabeth + Jason | Engagement Photography

What a great day I had on Saturday. An e-session with Elizabeth and Jason and a family session with the Penney's. Wait until you see seventeen month old Gracie...omg adorable! I can't wait to blog a few photos from that session too.

Elizabeth and Jason will be walking down the aisle on June 4th, 2011. We met at Sanger Park to take a few engagement photos. Elizabeth pre-warned me that Jason was a little on the shy side. These guys are so cute together. When Jason wasn't really sure what to do in front of the camera, Elizabeth was there to snuggle in and put him at ease. By the end of the e-session, I think Jason was ready to strike a pose. ha ha.

The weather was great. We had to take shelter under a nearby park hut at one point to avoid getting drenched. I didn't mind. The light is usually awesome after a shower and the grass and fall colors really shine.

I think this one might be my favourite. It find its so natural.

so cute....
