VIOLET | {expecting} | april 2012

 

Germaine and Dustin are expecting their first child in approximately three weeks. They are having a little girl and have already chosen a name for their daughter - Violet. I love it! It's unique and beautiful. For Germaine and Dustin's maternity session, we incorporated a little violet for little Violet.

 

Congratulations you guys. I can't wait to meet her!

THE PROMISE | {belly 2 baby} | april 2012

In high school, Aaron gave Nichole a promise ring. He promised to love her. By accepting that ring, Nichole returned that promise.

On August 20th 2011, Nichole and Aaron exchanged that promise ring for wedding bands. Together with their families, they committed to love, honor and cherish each other for a lifetime.

In just a couple weeks, they are passing that promise on. They will become parents to a beautiful baby girl. Together, they have promised to love and protect their baby for the rest of their lives. The undeniable love they have for each other and the connection they both share will make them wonderful parents.

I first met Nichole and Aaron one August afternoon last year for a pre-wedding session. They had chosen me as their wedding photographer and thought it was a good idea to get to know me and my photography style before the big day - always a great idea!

Then it was wedding day. Nichole and Aaron were blessed with a beautiful, sunny/over-cast day.

When I heard the news they were expecting their first child, I was thrilled - yet another milestone in their lives together. I was hoping to be chosen as the photographer once again to document the event. I am truly honored!

Nichole's family purchased the Belly 2 Baby Package as a gift for the parents-to-be. They came into the studio a few weeks ago for the first session. Baby Noseworthy is expected to arrive at the end of May. I can not wait to meet (and of course) photograph the little beauty.

It's no secret that I love my job. Being a small part of the momentous milestones in people's lives is an amazing perk!

MELISSA + DAVID | {maternity session} | march 2012

"The decision to have a child is momentous.

It is to decide forever to have your heart  go walking outside your body."

I came across this quote online a few months ago. How true are those words?

Having a baby is a life-long adventure. You carry a baby under your heart for nine-months and that child has your heart for a lifetime.

I have known Melissa and David for a few years now. I know how excited they are to be expecting. Needless to say, I was so pleased when they asked me to photograph their baby bump. During their maternity session, I could see that joy of becoming parents shining through in every image.

Baby N is expected to arrive in mid May. I can't wait to meet him!

DEIDRE + GARY | {a precious gift} maternity session

Its a special day, week, month for Deidre and Gary. They're expecting a baby! In fact, today is the official due date! I haven't heard yet whether baby arrived on schedule. I met with Deirde and Gary in early November for a maternity session. Since then, I've been spending alot of time in the studio photographing little ones of all ages. Over the past month, I've thought of Deidre and Gary a few times. They have lots of giggles and smiles to look forward to! During our maternity session, the couple were glowing. I think the happiness they felt shows in the images we captured. Take a look.

BABY BELLY NUMBER ONE | {maternity} session

Throughout our lives we experience many emotions. Love, Joy, Excitement and Fear. A couple expecting their first child - and more so a pregnant women - will experience all of these emotions and more during a nine-month short period.

I first met Melanie and Quinton when I photographed their wedding in October 2006. Through mutual friends, Tom and I have gotten to know Melanie and Quinton on a personal level. There exists now, one very large circle of friends. To say its amazing to have once photographed their wedding and now photograph and witness their pregnancy, would be an understatement. Life is funny like that.

The past few years have been very exciting for our circle. Weddings, engagements :) and now babies. It was exciting to learn Melanie and Quinton were expecting. Then a week or two later, we learned our other friends, Dave and Krista were also expecting. Two babies, just weeks apart. Very exciting stuff. Dave and Krista are expecting a girl on April Fools Day and Baby Hewlett's sex is still a mystery. Although, there is much speculation its a boy. Perhaps soon, a prince and princess will join the circle. Just sayin'

Not only do we get to watch our friends embark on this amazing journey, they trust me to photograph each moment. I feel very lucky. I may not be a mom yet or pregnant (lets just clarify that one), but I too am full of joy and excitement for my friends. Its a very exciting time and I'm so happy to share in the experience.
