PORTRAIT SESSION // THE POWER FAMILY

Tuesday, June 17, 2014

Summer is finally here! And I'm coming out of hiding :)

I recently met the sweetest little boy. At just three-months-old, Riley John stole my heart. Those big blue eyes and heart-shaped lips. Oh my! What a cutie!

His momma, Danielle was first a student in my Basics4Beginners Photo Workshop and then assisted me during a busy wedding season last summer. This girl is awesome. She's sweet, funny and has the most amazing personality. So, when she asked if I would photograph her little family, I was all in.

We met at Sanger Park early Saturday morning and the light (while bright and sunny) was perfect in all the right places.

Meet Riley John....

PORTRAIT SESSION // SOPHIE'S FIRST BIRTHDAY

Monday, June 24, 2013

I've had the honor of photographing Sophie since she was a baby. She recently turned one. I thoroughly enjoyed our First Birthday Session yesterday. We patiently waited until late in the day to get that soft, beautiful evening light. Sophie was perfect during the session. She smiled, giggled at her sock monkey and loved watching the motorbikes whiz by. Thank you Nichole and Aaron once again for allowing me to photograph your beautiful little girl!

Look at those eyes!

PORTRAIT SESSION // THE HAMILTON FAMILY

Friday, June 21, 2013

It's Grad Day for many young adults in Grand Falls-Windsor today. As I write this, the ladies are probably getting their hair and make-up done and excited to step into their beautiful grad dresses they carefully chose for this special occasion. The boys...well they're probably still asleep :)

On Wednesday afternoon, I spent an hour with two little people who haven't even started school yet. It has been so amazing to photograph Rebecca and Jake since they were new to this world and be a part of their lives. Their parents - Dave and Krista are our best friends. Rebecca is our god daughter. She turned two in April and her little brother turned one a month later. Before we know it, Rebecca will be shopping for her graduation dress (Hey Dave!). Time whips by, but for now, we can cherish the moments we have...and those adorable little grins.

Enjoy...

PORTRAIT SESSION // THE WATERMAN FAMILY

Monday, June 10, 2013

There is nothing more rewarding to me than spending time with a family while capturing images they will cherish for days, weeks, years-to-come.

Meet the Waterman Family - Jennifer, Jonathan and Jaden. We spent an hour or so at Sanger Park in Grand Falls-Windsor on Saturday. Three-year-old Jaden was an absolute joy to photograph. He surprised me. Normally, I'm expecting to work up a sweat when working with toddlers (once they can walk, they soon learn to run. Right moms!?). With Jaden in the lead, we casually walked around the park. I don't know if Jaden was a little weary around a stranger, curious about my camera or just loved to have his photo taken, but when I pointed the camera in his direction, he paused, tilted his head and smiled. What a doll!

These are just a few of the memories we recorded.

BEN IS TWO! | {little ones} | february

Friday, March 8, 2013

Sweet Benjamin. Oh, how his little smile makes me smile. Benjamin has such a pleasant demeanor. It was such a pleasure to spend time with him and his parents. I have photographed Benjamin since he was a newborn. It's a little sad, but also so incredibly awesome to watch him grow. It's a little hard to believe he is two already!

WILLIAMS | {family} | august 2012

Monday, August 27, 2012

I met with the Williams Family last week at Church Road Park. It was a beautiful summer day. Kids were playing in the sand, chasing the ducks and burning off some of that endless energy. Two-year-old Autumn had the same idea.

The images of Autumn and her little sister, Kate (just five months old) are so sweet.

I love working with children. Especially toddlers. While I love setting up shots of little ones - sitting in the grass or playing with toys - my favourite images are those captured on the fly. To me, those natural expressions and adorable giggles make the best images.

I'm pretty sure, I'm going to have to order a couple of these as canvas wraps for the studio :)

We had a quick rain shower during the session...but that didn't stop Autumn from exploring.
