MELISSA + ANDREW | {wedding} | august 2012

Friday, August 3, 2012

When I met Melissa and Andrew for their pre-wedding consultation, the first thing I noticed about Melissa was her smile. She has one of those smiles. Ya know, the kind of smile that makes you want to smile. Infectious.

The morning of Melissa and Andrews wedding was hot! The sky was blue, the sun was beaming down and there was no clouds in sight. For any photographer, a sheer curtain of clouds is heaven sent. As morning turned to noon and the sun continued to shine, I was mentally preparing to shoot Melissa and Andrew's bridal portraits in direct sunlight.

When I arrived to photograph Melissa with her Bridesmaids and all the wedding details, Melissa greeted me with a smile. That same smile. She was getting married and the joy of marrying the man she loved was written all over her face.

Melissa and Andrews ceremony was perfect - complete with laughter, tears and a beautiful union of two families and of course, two people in love.

After the ceremony, that gorgeous blue sky was quickly replaced with thunder clouds and rain. Heavy rain. Just when you thought it was going to stop, the clouds turned darker grey and the rain came belting down again. But, no amount of rain - not even a downpour - was going to put a damper on Melissa and Andrews wedding day. Melissa continued to smile through it all while Andrew whispered in her ear "You're beautiful."

We were blessed with thirty-minutes of clear skies just before the reception was scheduled to begin. Just enough time to capture a few images of the newlyweds on the grounds of the Grand Falls Golf Club.

Melissa and Andrew, thank you for allowing me to capture all of those unforgettable moments of your special day.

Melissa wore a Kim Kardashian inspired headpiece. The headpiece is a replica of the one Kardashian wore on  her wedding day.

WOW! It's so rare to see someone step outside the regular veil/hairclip/tiara box! Gorgeous!

I adore your detail shots!
